 ONE ShocSANITIZERS

While ecoONE® eases the oxidation demand on your sanitizer it is not a registered sanitizer. Maintain the minimum recommended amount of sanitizer in your spa. This may range between .05 ppm and 3 ppm depending on your local regulatory agency guidelines.

At minimum, we recommend ozone and shocking weekly with a sanitizing shock such as ONEShockTM or dichlor.

LEAD FOUND IN HOSES:

The ecoONE® line of household cleaning products is formulated to offer effective competitively priced earth, health pet and kid-friendly alternatives to conventional cleaning products.

All of our products contain no harsh chemicals such as chlorine or ammonia, low to no VOC’s (Volatile Organic Chemicals) and utilize only food or cosmetic grade
Surfactants.
Pacific Sands, Inc. (OTC BB:PFSD.OB - News) announced today that the company has noted a recent spike in sales of its Pacific Sands Hose Filter after an ABC news story found new garden hoses can leach lead into water. Nearly 20 times the EPA's recognized 'safe' level of lead was found in one instance.

The recent exposure of the potential for lead in garden hoses is particularly troubling to parents who have been filling kiddie pools and allowing their kids to drink from garden hoses. According to the Center for Environmental Health, millions of children are potentially at risk from lead exposure…

In a test, reporters from ABC's Phoenix affiliate KNXV-TV bought 10 garden hoses randomly at places like Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Target and Ace Hardware.
They filled sections of the hoses with clean water, sealed the ends and put them outside for about a day. Then they delivered that water to a lab.
If you can find camper or marine or RV hoses, they are generally safe for drinking. They're made from medical-grade vinyl. Teknor Apex makes Neverkink and Aquaflex R.V. hoses safe for drinking.  Experts say it's probably safe to water your vegetables with water from a garden hose, but you and your pets should avoid drinking from it. Also, don't fill a kiddie pool with it.

WATER FILTRATION

There are 3 things to filter out of the water; Solids, Liquids and Semi-Solids.

Solids - Solid contaminants are particulates that have a rigid shape and a constant volume. Solid contaminants are the least likely to be of a uniform size or shape. In a spa the solid contaminants are sand and hair as well as larger items such as leaves and twigs

.
Liquids - Liquids flow readily. They do not have a stable shape but have a constant volume. In a hot tub or pool the liquid contaminants are generally body oils or artificial oils (such as Suntan oil). Foams are liquid based and have been mixed with air. These can include make up, deodorants, shampoo, and soap residue (possibly laundry detergents). The average person sweats three pints per hour in a Hot Tub.

Semi-Solids - Semi-Solids are solids thatareable to bend or break into smaller parts. Theyflex when they come into contact with a solid object. In a spa application, semi-solids are human skin, human waste, pollen, and other products (such as fingernail polish). Out of the three contaminants, semi-solids are the hardest to remove from water.

Cosmetics, suntan lotion, perspiration and other bather contaminants cannot be filtered out of spa water and are resistant to normal levels of bromine or chlorine. These undesirable contaminants can quickly build up in a spa. They contain nitrogen that combines with chlorine to form chloramines.

Chloramines can cause skin and eye irritation, strong chlorine odor and cloudy water. Chlorine in this combined form also has a greatly reduced ability to kill bacteria. A shock treatment once a week will destroy the chloramines and undesirable compounds that can cause these problems.
